Peoples Bank donates to GC Early Learning Center

A gift of $15,000 from the Peoples Bank will help ensure that “Growth Happens Here” at the Greene County Early Learning Center (GCELC), a nonprofit childcare center serving children and families from throughout Greene county.

An early supporter of the project, the Peoples Banks are supporting the construction of a new building for the center in Jefferson that will increase its capacity for care by about 50 percent to nearly 150 children.

“We’re thrilled to see the early learning center project move forward. It will be a great asset to our community for many years into the future. We are very thankful for all the staff, parents, volunteers, and other fellow donors who are turning this vision into a reality. You might say that this is an example of community cooperation at its best,” said John Rigler, President & COO, Peoples Bank.

“We are full of gratitude for the continued, faithful support of businesses and individuals in Greene County who, with us, see this dream happening,” said Donna Sutton, co-chair of the fundraising steering committee.
